For additional reference images or mood boards, feel free to email them to shasta@thesugarartfairy.com. All cakes are made to order and availability is limited to ensure an exceptional, one-of-a-kind experience.

For custom celebration cakes, we recommend reaching out at least 3–4 weeks in advance, though more notice is always appreciated.

For wedding cakes, we often book out months in advance, especially during peak season. Many couples reserve their date shortly after getting engaged to ensure availability.

Since we accept a limited number of commissions each week to preserve quality and artistry, we encourage you to inquire as soon as your date is set.

Each cake is custom-designed and priced based on size, intricacy, and the artistry involved. Because no two designs are ever the same, quotes are provided following a personal consultation—whether by email, phone, or in person.

Wedding cakes begin at $300

Custom celebration cakes begin at $200

Pricing reflects not only the ingredients and scale, but the hours of craftsmanship poured into every detail. To receive a tailored quote, please submit an inquiry with your event date and vision.

A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due two weeks prior to pickup or delivery.

For orders placed with less than two weeks’ notice, full payment is due at the time of booking.

For wedding cakes, a $150 save-the-date retainer is available for clients who wish to reserve their date while finalizing design details.

We accept all major credit cards, checks, and yes—good old-fashioned cash.

Yes! I offer virtual tasting appointments exclusively for wedding clients. Tastings may be scheduled at any point before booking and up to six weeks prior to your event. Most clients choose to pair this with their design consultation for a seamless planning experience.

Tastings are $40 and include your choice of up to six signature flavors. If you decide to book your wedding cake, the tasting fee will be applied toward your final balance.

While I’d love to welcome everyone in, The Sugar Art Fairy is not a traditional storefront. All of our cakes and confections are made to order, which means the studio is not open for walk-in visits or retail purchases.

Pickups are available by appointment only, and the address will be provided once your order is confirmed.

Yes, delivery is available.

My standard delivery range includes areas within approximately one hour of Northwest San Antonio. For locations beyond that, delivery may be available on a case-by-case basis. All delivery fees are calculated based on distance and setup requirements.

For structural and safety reasons, I do not recommend client pickup for carved or 3D cakes, or for designs over 10 inches tall. The Sugar Art Fairy is not responsible for any damage that occurs to cakes once they leave the studio in client care. That said, if an issue arises and I’m able to assist, I will always do my best to help.

At this time, we do not ship cakes.

Due to the handcrafted detail and delicate nature of our custom cakes, all orders must be picked up or hand-delivered to ensure they arrive in pristine condition. We believe the final presentation is just as important as the flavor, and shipping simply can't guarantee the magic stays intact.

That said, our Enchanted Confections are available for nationwide shipping and make the perfect gift or sweet indulgence delivered to your door.

Yes—due to the custom nature of my work, the following policies ensure a smooth and seamless experience for both client and cake artist:

Booking Confirmation

Your date is not reserved until I’ve received both a signed contract and either:


  • $150 Save-the-Date Retainer (if your design is still in progress), or

  • 50% non-refundable retainer (for finalized designs)

If these are not submitted within 5 business days of your quote, availability may no longer be guaranteed.

Final Design & Flavor Selections

Final selections for wedding cakes must be confirmed at least 30 days prior to your event.

Any changes after this point are subject to approval and may incur additional fees.

Late Cancellations

If your order is canceled within 5 business days of your event, the full balance remains due, as preparations will already be underway.

Delivery

Delivery & Set Up

Delivery is required for all wedding cakes and for select multi-tiered celebration cakes. Due to the scale and fragility of these custom creations, self-transport is not permitted.

The delivery and setup fee is $35, plus $3 per mile (one-way) from The Sugar Art Fairy Studio. This fee includes transport, careful setup, and final artistic adjustments on-site.

A delivery time range must be provided in advance by the client and confirmed with your venue or planner. Please notify us immediately of any changes. Cake tables must be fully set and ready at the beginning of the delivery window. If you’re using your own pedestal, riser, or cake plateau, it must be in place prior to our arrival unless otherwise arranged.

Outdoor Delivery

Outdoor settings present unique challenges for cake delivery and display. While every effort is made to minimize weather-related risks, sugar, buttercream, and structural elements are highly sensitive to temperature and humidity.

Please note that cakes are vulnerable to damage in conditions over 72°F or during high humidity, wind, or direct sunlight.

Deliveries to outdoor venues are scheduled as close to the event time as possible to reduce environmental exposure and accommodate any last-minute changes to the cake table location.

Once delivery and setup are complete, The Sugar Art Fairy is not responsible for any damage caused by weather, insects, uneven surfaces, or other site-related factors.

Returns & Cancellations

My Guarantee

I pour artistry, intention, and care into every cake I create—and my promise is to deliver a custom piece that exceeds your expectations. From design to flavor, I work closely with each client to ensure your vision comes to life as beautifully as possible.

Cake Cancellation Policy

  • prior to the 10-day lockout date are eligible for a refund of up to 50% of any balance paid. The initial 50% retainer is non-refundable and secures your place in my calendar.
  • within 10 days of your event are not eligible for a refund.
  • within 5 days of the event, the full balance is still due, as your cake will already be in progress or complete.

If something arises that may impact your scheduled event, please reach out as soon as possible. I will do my best to accommodate changes when given enough notice. If I am unable to accommodate your new date, your order will be considered canceled, and the standard cancellation policy will apply.

Cake Refund Policy

Due to the handcrafted, perishable nature of custom cakes and confections, refunds are not offered once an order has been picked up, signed for, or shipped. At that point, your order is considered accepted.

The Sugar Art Fairy is not responsible for any damage that occurs during transport, setup, or after delivery. You will be provided with detailed care and handling instructions at pickup to help ensure your cake or treats arrive and remain in perfect condition.

In rare circumstances and at my sole discretion, a store credit (excluding the non-refundable retainer) may be issued.
